Only purchase the myQ Gateway individually if you already have Safety IR Beams installed.

To ensure safe and compliant operation, the use of Safety IR Beams is mandatory for the use of myQ Connectivity. myQ Connectivity will not function unless Safety IR Beams are installed and properly configured. This requirement is in place to help prevent accidental closures and ensure the system meets safety standards across Australia and New Zealand.

The myQ App is compatible with Apple devices operating on the three latest versions of iOS. Apple Watch requires watchOS 9 or higher, and Android devices must be running Android 7.1 Nougat or higher. Windows devices are not supported.

Please note that as new versions of the myQ App are released, older versions of iOS and Android operating systems may no longer be compatible.

myQ Performance Disclaimer
The performance of the myQ Gateway depends on radio frequency (RF) communication, not Wi-Fi. Reliability may vary based on the distance between the Gateway and your gate, as well as environmental factors such as walls, metal surfaces, and other sources of interference.

For best results, install the Gateway:
• Close to the gate opener (additional network equipment may be required)
• Away from sources of interference
• In a location with a clear RF signal path

myQ is not compatible with tilt garage doors.

After installing Merlin Silentdrive Elite myQ to my roller door, getting in and out of the garage had been a lot easier and safer. I can either operate through the remote control or iPhone, set it to automatic closing after I opened. I can open or close the garage door away from home, and the safety beam makes sure there is no obstacles before closing. The only slight inconvenience is that the LED light is a bit dim. Overall, it’s a pleasure experience to use Merlin and I would definitely recommend it to my families and friends.
